Why SOPA and PIPA Failed.

http://money.cnn.com/2012/01/27/technology/sopa_pipa_lobby/index.htm

As sopa and pipa are now postponed indefinitely, America realizes the power behind the internet. We have seen how the internet can start revolutions in countries like Libya. Millions of dollars have been spent through fortune 500 companies like Comcast, Time Warner, an various credit card companies. The bills were set up for a quick passing through congress and the legislature so it wouldn’t draw public scrutiny. It’s funny how word gets out and how the voters have a say in what our government does. Kind of a unique concept if you ask me. Opposition of the bills was extremely powerful when it came to internet, Google but millions of dollars to raise awareness about them and also had a petition linked up to the largest search engine on the internet. Other companies provided money but not as near as much money as companies spent to support the bill. The opposition had the strongest power, the internet.
