There have been 16 confirmed dead in the cruise liner crash off the coast of Italy. 16 more people are still missing. It will take some time for salvage divers to siphon the fuel on the ship and dive teams are still searching the boat for more bodies. Environmental laws will be followed with the pollution and the oil that has leaked into the sea. A law suit has been filed in Miami, which would include all nationalities, and it requests for each passenger that has claimed the law suit, an amount of 125,000 Euros ($160,000) shall be given. This would cause the total above Billions of Euros paid off in a law suit. The Captain is under house arrest and is facing possible charges of manslaughter, shipwreck, and abandoning ship. He has been accused of going too fast to avoid any dangers that lurked in the water.
The captain has a series of excuses why he was one of the first one’s off the ship including, “I tripped into a lifeboat.” The ship was in total chaos and the Captain decided that he was worth saving more than the other passengers on his boat. He will be causing billions of dollars in damage and class action law suits. There is no way he should be able to walk free from this. This is the cause of “wrecklessness.” Yet, he still pleads innocent.
