Why SOPA and PIPA Failed.
As sopa and pipa are now postponed indefinitely, America realizes the power behind the internet. We have seen how the internet can start revolutions in countries like Libya. Millions of dollars have been spent through fortune 500 companies like Comcast, Time Warner, an various credit card companies. The bills were set up for a quick passing through congress and the legislature so it wouldn’t draw public scrutiny. It’s funny how word gets out and how the voters have a say in what our government does. Kind of a unique concept if you ask me. Opposition of the bills was extremely powerful when it came to internet, Google but millions of dollars to raise awareness about them and also had a petition linked up to the largest search engine on the internet. Other companies provided money but not as near as much money as companies spent to support the bill. The opposition had the strongest power, the internet.

16 Dead, 16 Missing On Cruise Liner
There have been 16 confirmed dead in the cruise liner crash off the coast of Italy. 16 more people are still missing. It will take some time for salvage divers to siphon the fuel on the ship and dive teams are still searching the boat for more bodies. Environmental laws will be followed with the pollution and the oil that has leaked into the sea. A law suit has been filed in Miami, which would include all nationalities, and it requests for each passenger that has claimed the law suit, an amount of 125,000 Euros ($160,000) shall be given. This would cause the total above Billions of Euros paid off in a law suit. The Captain is under house arrest and is facing possible charges of manslaughter, shipwreck, and abandoning ship. He has been accused of going too fast to avoid any dangers that lurked in the water.
The captain has a series of excuses why he was one of the first one’s off the ship including, “I tripped into a lifeboat.” The ship was in total chaos and the Captain decided that he was worth saving more than the other passengers on his boat. He will be causing billions of dollars in damage and class action law suits. There is no way he should be able to walk free from this. This is the cause of “wrecklessness.” Yet, he still pleads innocent.

Tense Triangle: USA, Israel, Iran
Tensions continue to build as Iran moves further to creating a nuclear missile program. Iran has also threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz which over 1/5 of the world’s oil passes through. The American government has been trying to establish a line of communication with Iran about the consequences of closing the straight. Another developing situation is the Israeli statements against Iran if they international sanctions don’t stop Iran from building the nuclear bombs. The United States is working with Israel with defensive maneuvers to avoid causing a world tragedy. The most important thing that needs to be done is establishing a direct line of communication with Iran to avoid misconceptions and miscalculations.
I agree that this is the place where the United States needs to step in. We’re one of the most powerful military powers that cause help avoid global devastation. As Israel is right to protect itself against opposition, becoming trigger happy could lead to regrettable consequences. If Iran does continue with their nuclear bomb program and threatens to use it, I would hope that all countries that care about the safety of mankind would send people to overpower the Iranian program. As I oppose being in a war for so long, I understand the importance of protection and taking actions as needed. Hopefully this will end peacefully, but more than likely it will require further military actions.
Hopefully in the further generations peace will become unanimous. Although unlikely, justice should prevail. Motives for different groups such as the Al Qaeda and the LRA may be known, but could soon be lost. New groups could rise, and others could die out but maybe something will change. If a country could just be okay with what other countries do, maybe fighting could stop. Nuclear energy would only be used as a energy source and not a weapon. Maybe one day, people will learn to take another perspective and say its right. Highly unlikely, it’s worth hoping for.

Former President and General, Kenan Evren, 94, being tried in court
Literal- In a government that has been under 4 coups in 50 years, laws have been changed and passed to support the stability of the Turkish Government. Kenan Evren, 94, has been indicted with acts against the forces of the state. In a coup on September 12th, 1980, Kenan Evren ordered tanks to position themselves in the Capitals streets. He then became president and allegedly imprisoned, tortured, and killed thousands of people. He demolished the political system of Turkey to the point of rebuilding is still under way today. An article passed in 1982 had previously protected Kenan Evren and other generals from being charged. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan ratified recent constitution changes that no longer protect any of the former generals. They have been arresting the coup leaders and generals and are trying them in court, whether or not they’re a hundred years old. Critics of the country’s ruling are saying it’s a way to target the political parties against Erdogan. Supporters argue it will bring the military under control of publicly elected officials. It is a much needed step due to the abundance of coups since 1960.
Critical- The government of Turkey is finally becoming more of a publicly elected country rather than political dominance by the military. I believe that what the government is trying the former generals for is necessary and support the decision of showing that the government of the people has the power to overthrow the military now, not the other way around. The control of the military is important to the stability of the country. Is it practical to try a 94 year old man? No, probably not. Is it needed to show the stability of the country? Yeah, I’d say so.
Inferential- The past year has shown a lot of countries becoming overthrown by the people who demand a new government. One that will be stable and gives freedom to the people of that country. Turkey has shown that an overthrow may be helpful but won’t solve the problems right away. It may take 20-50 years before everything is settled down in Libya, and Syria now.

Gingrich A "Chickenhawk"
In this interview with Ron Paul by CNN's Soledad O'Brien, Ron Paul criticized GOP Candidate Newt Gingrich about the ethics and morals of sending soldiers into war without having gone over to fight in Vietnam when the opportunity presented itself. Gingrich received deferments in the draft and did not fight in the Vietnam War. Later in the interview Paul Said, “We get twice as much support from the active military personnel than all the other candidates put together. He also defended himself about a tweet regarding Jon Huntsman’s success in the Caucus. The message was sent from the account @RonPaul, which is the candidates official feed. Paul admitted that he “has some help tweeting."
I have been hearing a lot about what America needs as a leader and I’ve heard people say that we need a commander and chief, not a experimental president and a do-nothing congress. In the debates though, to counterpoint someone’s idea, using “I’m a more radical extreme republican than you, is not a valid excuse.” We don’t need a political obsessed official to only support the Republican side, or Democratic Side. We need a leader that is going to fix the debt problem, make congress actually do something, and end the war on terror. All parties need to work together and quit picking the best of the worst. Out of 300 Million people, not one person can take both ideas of Republican and Democratic and use them to create a solution that will be accepted and will actually work. That seems extremely unlikely. We need a leader mostly to step up, quit all the drama and rise above the rest of the candidates that are only concerned with one or two topics.
Dear America,
We all have our problems and skeletons in our closets. No one is perfect and the media is so out of hand. This country was built on strong morals and strong faith. Yes, we may have different opinions, but we must learn that our opinions may not always be right. Our politicians are becoming high-schoolers again arguing about who is right and being completely ignorant to any other opinions. A new generation is going to rise up to power after the politicians of today. We only hope that today’s politicians screw up so bad that we can’t change it back to what it has become.
Sincerely,
The next generation that understands more about sharing ideas and listening instead of fighting and arguing.
